Incoherent Meltdown Blog
I wrote a nasty blog today about how I think bumper stickers are stupid. It was angry. I tore down the family stick figure stickers that the soccer moms love to the Calvin peeing on something stickers that garnish the Ford F-150’s, to ignorant political stickers. It was mean and written with a lot of distain. I shared with my wonderful son, Ronnie, and he discouraged me from posting it for a number of reasons. Thanks, honey.
Excerpt from mean blog: “So here rides the happy family…a Dad, a Mom, A big sister, another Sister, a Brother and Toddler and let’s not forget Rover and Kitty. Why do I have to try to figure out such prehistoric drawings anyway? Can I please drive in peace? I don’t want to decipher the symbols to figure out what the hell you do for fun. “
I felt guilty about my writings so immediately started writing about charity…the importance of finding one that is close to your heart.
Introduction to self healing blog: “A bone to the dog is not charity. Charity is the bone shared with the dog, when you are just as hungry as the dog.”
Although I am committed to helping others, I didn’t have in me to write about it tonight. Let me figure this out.
Week’s symptoms: Irritability, Tiredness, Socially Inept, Memory Loss, Poor Concentration, Poor Diet, and Anger with a big emphasis on the Social Ineptness.
The real issue: Sleep Deprivation.
Definition #1
A sleep disorder characterized by having too little sleep can be either chronic or acute. Long-term sleep deprivation causes certain death in severe cases, especially with lab animals.
Definition #2
A form of psychological torture inflicted by depriving the victim of sleep.
Definition #3
The condition of being kept awake, to the point of noticeably lower alertness. A dangerous amount of sleep deprivation can cause fatal automobile accidents.
Yikes.
Hello Melatonin.
Goodnight to all. Well…almost…I need to finish my emailing, my ORU homework, getting the kids stuff ready for school tomorrow, cleaning my kitchen and looking for my gray boots that I want to wear to work and finally, coming up with the words to apologize to my husband for calling him dumb and saying that he got a weird haircut.
Love it. And I am just gonna say Ronnie gives great advise. So I think it is very wise to listen to him.
LOl…I want to see the one Ronnie discouraged you from using… I love reading your blog on Friday!
LOL…you have to admit that what’s really funny is that when we see such prehistoric drawings we immediately assume that we are suppose to figure them out…so riddle me this Batwoman, is this a devious plot of the Liberal Left to turn us into road-rage warriors so we don’t see what the government is doing to us?
Sleep is a precious commodity, isn’t it, Teresa? Remember the good old days when we were so very young, feeling like an eight hour day was inhuman torture? Now, sixteen, eighteen hour days are the norm, accompanied by all these other people depending on us to keep them together as well. We have to be “on,” supportive and brilliant–shiny happy face glowing all the while. Sometimes you just need to vent. Those that love you know how cool you are. Maybe that haircut WAS a little weird (hair comments crack me up), maybe soccer moms don’t know how truly annoying THEY are and just maybe Melatonin is your bestest ever friend.
As a member in good standing of the Sleep Deprivation Society, the Royal Order of the Hormonally Challenged AND Overachievers Anonymous, I give myself permission to unleash the dragon on occasion, cry my heart out, act like the poster child for bi-polar disorder and then remember to breathe, remember how blessed I am, apologize and appreciate the fact that “with great power comes great responsibility”…hum the Spiderman theme as I doze off to well-deserved sleep. You are amazing. 🙂
Rachel,
Awesome feedback. You just wrote your first blog. I mean it. Get it set up this weekend.
Your compliments are gracious and kind. Thank you so very much!
Haha, Teresa–I am merely basking in the reflection of your awesome blogs. Not that the vote of confidence wasn’t appreciated–coming from you, WOW, honoured you think so. Love your blogs…inspiration to the rest of us trying to empower ourselves through education ( I LOVE CCC!!!) and so happy that your visions have given us so much–personally, you have provided me with an amazing school to attend to hone my mad skrills and a workplace that is safe and absolutely FUN. Grateful to you. “Thanks” seems so small a thing to say…hopefully, you know that it is sincere.
P.S. We have all called our husbands “dumb” at one point in time. Knee jerk responses, right? I recall my dead-pan delivery to “How was your day, darling?”
“I hate my hair and you are a pompous ass.”
The good ones have the sense to smile, sweetly say “OOOkay!”, grab their bag of Doritos and head off to the safety of the Man Cave. 😉
great post thanks
