My New Year's Wish

I think about the decisions and choices that I have made over the years.  Would I go back in time and change things if I had the opportunity?

Well, I wish I hadn’t gotten married the first time around so that I would have never gotten divorced, but then I wouldn’t have my beautiful baby boy,  Ronnie.

I wish I wouldn’t have gotten in tons of debt in my 20’s  but then I would have never felt the joy of getting out of debt and learning how to be credit smart.

I wish I would have been less enabling with my brother Roger who is serving a six year prison term for methamphetamine, but… prison has given him a second chance at  life.

Dare I say my personal mantra is “No Regrets?”

Absolutely not!  This statement, although appealing  in many regards, embraces the dumb theology that “everything happens for a reason.”  Without regret, there is no reason to improve.

I wouldn’t go back and change anything because my journey, although bumpy, has been a fascinating ride.  Garth says it best!  “My life is better left to chance.  I could have missed the pain but I’d of had to miss the dance.”

My New Year’s wish is to dream bigger than I ever have done before with no sense and no reason.  I want to permit my mind to take that leap into the realm of the impossible to believe I am capable of anything my heart and my mind can agree upon.

You can borrow my wish. I love you.  Learn to develop the power within you. Be senseless.  Be unreasonable.
