I’m really into fears, phobias and compulsive disorders. People suffer from so many and it makes me feel a little sad, but relieved. At one time I shared with you that I used to be a kleptomaniac. Well, I also HAD compulsive lying syndrome! Long story short…I was a poor kid and wanted other kids to think I was just like them….Mom, Dad, parents with jobs, no free school lunches, no food stamps (sure wish they had swipe cards back then), station wagon…the whole works! Basically; I wanted to fit in and live what I perceived as normal.
Do things really change when we grow up? Do we still want to fit in especially as it pertains to our work place? A survey conducted by the website Health.com revealed that more than 85 percent of poll participants observed cliques where they work. Most survey respondents viewed workplace cliques negatively. In fact, 66 percent had, at one time or another, felt excluded by the “in-crowd.”
I’m pretty sure I belong to a clique at work! If you work with me, you can probably guess who they are…RB, SH, SM, AB….Are we a cool clique? Are we perceived as villainous cliquers? Or…maybe they are only in “my” clique because I sign their paycheck! UGH!
Now that I think about it, we have a lot of cliques at the office…

This makes me kind of sad, I don’t really belong to any of those cliques…sigh…although I am a Christian, Posey has entered my office, and I did play on the softball team. LOL! I think my personal favorite is the scared of Ivan clique. Bahaha!

LOL—I loved this. It worries me that I belong to several of these. And, I promise–no one is in your clique just because you sign their paycheck! Working for you is unique because you are the first person I’ve worked for that I would actually like hanging out with after hours.
This had me laughing out loud. Every one of these is true. The one about Posey is my favorite!
AB? Hey! That’s my initials, but I didn’t know I was in a clique with you Teresa! OH, oh, I just remembered, Amanda has the same initials. That excitement didn’t last long. I do fit into some of the cliques listed above, so I guess I AM in a clique after all. LOL

I understand where you are coming from because I come from a family of 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Tried to hide my free school lunches. Wore hand me downs. Tried to make it seem like my parents were normal and not alcoholics.
No matter how old we get or where we go, there will always be cliques.
Only question I have is how do I meet those involved in the last clique on your list? LOL!!

This was great!!! I can tell you one thing…we are not in your clique because you sign our paychecks!!! I love it and definitely would not have it any other way! I was never in a clique during my school years (I was the one that never quite fit in anywhere), so I actually feel pretty cool that I am in a few of the listed ones!! Great Blog!
